Ubuntu 7.10: CompositeManagerXgl con scheda ATI
guida tratta da Ubuntu-it.org
installare Xserver XGL
sudo apt-get install xserver-xgl
Creare una Sessione Xgl al Login:
gksudo gedit /usr/bin/startxgl.sh
al suo interno inserire il testo seguente (se si usa GNOME):
#!/bin/sh Xgl :1 -fullscreen -ac -accel xv:pbuffer -accel glx:pbuffer & sleep 4 export DISPLAY=:1 cookie="$(xauth -i nextract - :0 | cut -d ' ' -f 9)" xauth -i add :1 . "$cookie" dbus-launch --exit-with-session gnome-session
Rendere lo script eseguibile con il seguente comando:
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/startxgl.sh
Ora aggiungere una opzione al gnome login manager per la scelta della sessione:
Creare quindi un file Xsession in questo modo:
gksudo gedit /usr/share/xsessions/xgl.desktop
copiare all’interno questo Testo
[Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Name=Xgl Comment=Start an Xgl Session Exec=/usr/bin/startxgl.sh Icon= Type=Application
Per accedere alla sessione XGL, terminare la sessione corrente e nella opzioni al login
scegliere la sessione XGL.
